Templates are the foundation of your digital passes. They define the visual design, layout, fields, and behavior of passes that you distribute to users. Think of templates as reusable blueprints that you can use to create thousands of individual pass instances.

Once you create a template, you can use it repeatedly to generate passes with different data while maintaining consistent branding and layout across all your passes.

Template Types

Walletap supports five main template types, each optimized for different use cases:

Generic

Flexible template for membership cards, ID cards, and general-purpose passes

Best for: Gym memberships, club cards, subscription services
Event Ticket

Specialized layout for events with seat numbers, venues, and time information

Best for: Concerts, conferences, sports events, theater shows
Loyalty

Designed for point systems with balance tracking and reward progression

Best for: Coffee shop punch cards, retail rewards, point systems
Gift Card

Perfect for stored value cards with balance display and transaction history

Best for: Store credit, gift certificates, prepaid cards
Coupon

Optimized for discounts and promotional offers with expiration dates

Best for: Discount codes, promotional offers, special deals

Template Management

Creating Templates

You can create templates through the Walletap dashboard using our intuitive visual editor.

Dashboard Method

  1. Navigate to Templates: In your dashboard, go to the Templates section

  2. Choose Template Type: Select the appropriate type for your use case

  3. Design Your Template: Use the visual editor to customize appearance

  4. Configure Fields: Set up the data fields that will appear on passes

  5. Save and Test: Save your template and create a test pass
